‘Countdown to 75’ Kickoff Event on Sunday May 1, 2011

In 2013, Greendale turns 75 years old – a noteworthy event, to be sure.
The Greendale 75th Anniversary Committee is teeing up the party with a 75th Celebration Kick-off Event on Sunday May 1, 2011.
Activities will include the presentation of the “Preserve America” award to Greendale.
Greendale Police & Fire vehicles will be on display. There will also be a Classic & Custom Car Show. All car buffs are invited to show off their wheels.
Winners of the Greendale School’s Art & Essay Contest, “What Greendale Means to Me” will be announced and receive their prizes.
All this and more can be found in and around the Greendale Gazebo on Broad Street. Listen for the music and watch for the fun.
The Kick-off starts at 1:00 p.m. and will run until 3:00 p.m.

Good news to all those who would like to participate in Greendale’s Countdown to 75 Calendar. The photo submission deadline has been extended to May 9, 2011.
The accommodate this, and allow sufficient press time, the calendar has been adjusted to nice round number. The 18 month ‘countdown’ calendar will run from July 2011 through December 2012. Greendale celebrates its 75th Anniversary in 2013.
Each month, the ‘Countdown to 75’Calendar will feature pictures of Greendale residents, Greendale Organizations, as well as important events – past and present. The pictures will come from you and your neighbors. It is a calendar for Greendale, made by Greendale.
Want to be considered? All interested individuals, families and groups should email a hi res jpeg to Dave Bauer by May 9, 2011. Dave’s email is dbauer@greendale.org. If you have any questions, just email Dave - or give him a call at (414) 421-5026.
While submitting a picture does not guarantee you a place, it will give you a fighting chance to be a part of our history.
