A Halloween Parade kicks off this year's events on Sunday, October 25. New this year is a costume Pet Parade in addition to the Children's Parade. Parents and pet owners should have their children and pets assemble at Brinkman Field (east side of the High School) at 11:30 a.m.

The Parade will begin at noon and go down Broad Street ending at the Reiman Visitor's Center where treat bags will be handed out to all costumed children.

All Pet Parade participants are invited to meet before and after the parade at Caesar's Pet for refreshments and socialization. Caesar's Pet is offering 25% off any Halloween costume for "Parade Participants Only." Caesar's Pet is also sponsoring a Canine Best Costume Contest with the following prizes:

First Place: $50 Caesar’s Pet Gift Certificate
Second Place: $30 Caesar’s Pet Gift Certificate
Third Place: $20 Caesar’s Pet Gift Certificate
Fourth, Fifth & Sixth Place: Free Toy valued at $4.99

Trick or Treat hours are set for 1 to 4 p.m.  The Police Department will again concentrate on
residential patrols to make sure children are safe.

Tips for a Safe Halloween
  • Parents should walk with younger children or require a buddy system if the child is old enough to trick‐or‐treat without you.
  • Avoid costumes that have masks which restrict vision.
  • Choose costumes which are brightly colored for better visibility.
  • Parents should check each item in their children’s bags before children eat any of the treats.  If in doubt, discard.
