Greendale Police Investigate Fires on June 25th

On Saturday, June 25, 2011 at approximately 3:28am, Greendale Police and Fire were dispatched to a garage fire located in the 5400 block of Mansfield Drive. The garage was completely consumed by the fire before it was extinguished by the Greendale Fire Department. There was minor damage to vehicles and neighboring residences, with no reported injuries. The fire is currently under investigation by the Greendale Police Department.
On Saturday, June 25, 2011 at approximately 3:55am, Greendale Police officers responded to the report of a burglary in the 6500 block of Greenway. Upon arrival, officers observed smoke coming from the apartment. The resident, who had been sleeping in a different room, heard the fire alarm sounding and observed a small fire on top of his bedroom comforter. The fire was extinguished by the resident. The resident later reported a burglary from a bedroom where miscellaneous coins were taken.
There is no known link between these two fires.
