Today, the Village Board of Greendale announced that
they have hired Clerk-Treasurer Todd Michaels as it’s
new Village Manager, a position made available
through the recent resignation of Joe Murray. The
Village Board of Trustees conducted a nation-wide
search for the manager’s position in which Mr.
Michaels was one of 31 applicants to compete.
Mr. Michaels has been serving as acting Manger in the interim while the national search was conducted and completed.
The Village Board approved Mr. Michaels’ appointment as Village Manager at their regularly scheduled meeting on October 16th. Village President John Hermes stated that "The Board of Trustees conducted a nationwide search for our new village manager. Mr. Michaels competed with the other candidates and emerged as the best fit for Greendale. The Board is extremely pleased to be able to offer Mr. Michaels the position of Village Manager, and we look forward to working with him to move the Village of Greendale forward."
Michaels and his wife, Susan, grew up on Milwaukee's south side. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Masters Degree in Public Administration, he worked in a Rockford, Illinois suburb.
When the Clerk-Treasurer position became available in Greendale, he saw an opportunity to return to the area. Nine years later, he's happy to have been appointed Village Manager. Mr. Michaels stated that “he is overjoyed with his appointment as Village Manager, and that he owes much of his success
in Greendale to the efforts of numerous co-workers.” He was especially thankful to the Village Board, the Department Heads, and the staff of Village Hall.
