Programs and Events



Thursday mornings this fall will be filled with fun activities for our youngest library users and their adult! 

Spend some time at the Greendale Public Library.
  We will have storytimes and a playgroup every week. 
Thursday morning programs take place in the meeting room in the lower level.



Bouncing Babies! Storytime for Babies and One Year Olds

Time:  9-9:30 am

February 1 to April 26

You and your baby will get a kick out of traditional rhymes, songs, and movement “games”!  Calm playtime between baby and caregiver is included also.

Terrific Tots! Storytime for 2 to 5 year olds

Time:  9:30-10 am

February 1 to April 26

Have a ball at this lively story session with wonderful picture books, action songs, rhymes, and lots of movement activities.

Time:  10-11:30 am

This is a time for babies and toddlers up to 3 years old and their grown-ups to gather and play. We have a variety of toys and a big space for kids to enjoy!

After School  Family Fun

Time:  3-4:30 pm

February 5 to April 23

n Youth Area

After a long day at school, come to the library to calm down, have a snack while doing a fun activity.  Activities vary each week but will be one of the following:  Lego/building blocks, arts and crafts, or science stations. 

Special After School Family Fun:

Presidents in Your Pocket, Monday in Kid Zone, February 19th3-4:30:  Learn about coins with the South Shore Coin Club.  Hands-on fun including a Presidents’ Day coin craft, trivia, and brain-games.


Kids' Valentine Card Making Party

Time:  3:00 to 4:30pm

February 7

In Youth Area

Make Valentine’s Day a little sweeter by making homemade cards.   Supplies provided by the Library.  After making cards, participants will decorate a cupcake to take home!   While supplies last.

Winterfest Craft

Time:  10:30am - noon

February 10  24th  In Youth Area - *** Please Note the date has been changed to the 24th

As part of Greendale’s Winterfest celebration, stop by the library to make a mini “ice sculpture” using sugar cubes and/or cotton balls.  Make an ice castle, an igloo or whatever you can imagine!


Read Across America

Time:  9am to 10:30am and 3:00 to 4:30pm

Stop by the youth area at 9-10:30 (toddlers and preschoolers and their adults) or 3-4:30 (school age children) for some Seuss style fun, trivia, and crafts.
