Spring Youth Programs



Moving and Grooving Storytime
Dates:  Wednesdays, March 22 and 29
Time:  9:30-10:15 am

Have a ball at this lively story session with wonderful picture books, action songs, rhymes, and lots of movement activities.  Ages 2-3 ½.  Craft included for first 20 children.


Baby & Toddler Playgroup
Dates:  Wednesdays, March 22 and 29
Time:  10:30-12:00 pm (Babies & tots up to age 3)

Time for babies and their grown-ups to gather and play. We have a variety of toys and a big space for kids to enjoy! 


Homeschool Swap, Talk and Play
Dates:  Tuesdays, March 28
Time:  11:00-2:00 pm 

Greendale Public Library welcomes homeschooling families! We will provide the room, toys, games and other activities. Parents are encouraged to swap homeschool ideas and materials. This is a great opportunity to socialize and share ideas! Bring a bag lunch, too! NO STORAGE IS AVAILABLE AT THE LIBRARY.


Fun and Fitness Storytime Presented by Greendale Public Library and Health Department
Dates:  Wednesdays, April 5, 12, 19, 26
Time:  2:30-3:15 pm

Learning while having fun is what this storytime is all about!  Ages 3-5.   Picture books, songs, exercise, and rhymes highlighting nutrition and fitness.  This storytime will get the childrens’ hearts pumping and mind engaged.


Kohl’s Wild Theater
April 9th from 1:00-2:00pm

What We Eat! This 30-minute mix of short skits will feature the importance of food to both animals and people. This show features a range of animal puppets that all eat food in different ways. Topics include healthy eating for humans, urban gardening, sustainable seafood and the food chain. This shorter show can be tailored to fit a wide range of audience ages and venue sizes. Most appropriate for grades Pre-K through 5 and families with children of all ages.


Train Day at the Library!
Thursday, April 20th from 10:00am – 7:30pm

There will be trains to play with and train activities for the whole family! 
Milwaukee Art Museum presents Kohl's Color Wheels will also be onsite in the evening from 6:00-7:30pm. Milwaukee Art Museum presents Kohl’s Color Wheels is designed as a drop-in art making program for the whole family.


Dark Don’t Scare Me
Date:  Monday, May 22nd
Time:  4-5 pm

Exclusively for 9-11 year olds, Dark Don’t Scare Me includes “in the dark” fun and games.  Bring your flashlight and a friend! 


Open Lego Play
Dates:  Mondays, April 3, 10, 17, 24
Time: 4-5 pm

We provide the Legos.  Use your imagination to create a project…or pick one of our challenge cards for you to take your Lego building to the next level.  Lego creations will be displayed.  All ages are welcome.  Duplo blocks will be available for toddlers.
