Construction Update for July 8

Here is the latest update for all of the 2010 Paving Projects within the Village.

College Avenue: The curb and stormwater work for Phase 1 is complete and the first layer of asphalt will be installed during the week of July 12. Asphalt will be placed from Loomis Rd. to the limits of Phase 1, the east driveway at College Park School. Phase 2 from College Park School to S.51st St. will begin within a few weeks.

S.51st Street: The road remains closed to all but local traffic. Pavement removal has begun and the re-shaping of the Loomis Rd. Intersection is underway.

Loomis Road: Work continues on the inner lanes from Hwy 100 to S. 27th St.. The amount of construction activity coupled with slow moving traffic and long waits at traffic signals have created delays for motorists. The Wisconsin DOT urges motorists to be aware of changing traffic conditions and people in the work zones. Using alternate routes is recommended.

2010 Greendale Paving Project: Paving is complete on Broad St. and Edgehill Rd. The work on Moorehead Ln. is progressing well with the curb/approach/sidewalk replacements due to be completed during the week of July 12. Residents are reminded that the concrete must cure for 1 week before vehicles may drive over it. Once the forms are removed residents may begin parking on street again but not on new concrete. Milling of the old pavement and placing new aspalt will happen in a few weeks and the whole paving process takes just a few days. This is a complex project and the Village is working with the contractor to minimize inconvenience to residents on the street. Thanks for your patience!
