    FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY

The Friends of the Greendale Public Library was formed in conjunction with the Greendale Public Library Foundation in 1988, coinciding with the Village of Greendale's 50th Birthday celebration. The Friends is a non-profit, volunteer group whose mission is to support the work of our community's library. The Friends organization:

  • Advocates for the library in the community
  • Promotes library activities and programs
  • Raises funds to support our children's summer reading program and other worthwhile events
  • Underwrites the cost of unbudgeted items to help improve our library

Information about the Friends of the Library programs can be found by clicking on this Library Program link.

  • When you join the Friends, you'll be part of a group whose sole purpose is supporting the library. You'll also receive:
  • free admission to the early-bird hours at each used book sale
  • one free drawing for each of your children during the summer reading program
  • invitations to Friends' only events
  • the opportunity to help the Library by volunteering at events and on committees
  • the pleasure of kinship with other library lovers and the knowledge that you are helping support the library

Support the Greendale Public Library Foundation’s many activities throughout the year. Contact the Library at 423-2136 if you are interested in:
