![]() HOW TO GET A PIN NUMBER IN COUNTYCAT
In order to:
you must enter a unique Patron Identification Number, or PIN. A PIN will protect you from misuse of your account. You specify the PIN; it can be up to thirty characters long and can consist of any characters you choose. It is stored in encrypted form in a variable-length PIN field in the your record. You can change your PIN at any time using the VIEW your circulation record option (telnet). CountyCat will prompt you to enter a PIN the first time that you request a function that is protected by PIN verification. This is true both in the Web version and the telnet version of CountyCat. INNOPAC will then automatically create a PIN field in your record using the specified PIN. For example, when you selects the VIEW your circulation record option or asks to REQUEST an Item, you will be prompted as follows:
If you forget your PIN, staff must delete the encrypted PIN from your record and then you can recreate your own new PIN. (see steps above)
