    Online /Telephone Renewal Information

    Please note: Not all library materials will be able to be renewed.


    To renew by terminal in the library:

    • V) View your own record
    • Enter your barcode + PIN
    • C) Display checked out items
    • R) Renew
    • Enter the number next to the items you wish to renew.


    To renew by touchtone telephone:(414) 277-0183

    • 1. Have your library card ready along with any material(s) that you want to renew.
    • 2. After the greeting, press “1” to access your library
    • records.
    • 3. Enter the 14-digit barcode found on your library card. (Press the # sign when you are done.)
    • 4. Press “1” to renew all items, or you may choose Press “2” to renew items one at a time.
    • 5. Follow the instructions to renew your material(s).


    To renew online via the World Wide Web at http://countycat.mcfls.org

    In the Web OPAC, you can initiate patron self-renewal by selecting:

    • View Your Own Record
    • Enter your barcode + your PIN number.Your record will be displayed on the screen.
    • Select Items Currently Checked Out.
    • You may then choose to Renew All or Renew Selected Items (if the latter option is chosen, you must check the box to the left of the selected item first). A new due date will appear for those items that are renewed.


    Guidelines for patron self-renewal:

    • 3-week materials can be renewed one time for an additional three weeks. They can be renewed beginning 7 days prior to the due date.
    • 7-day materials renewal will depend on the renewal policy of the library that owns the material. If allowed, they can be renewed beginning 3 days prior to the due date.
    • 3-day materials will not be renewable. If you have fines on your card, or if there is a hold on the item, the item cannot be renewed. Other exceptions may apply.


    Once an item is renewed, you are responsible for paying any fines on overdue item(s) regardless of the date stamped on them.
