BOARD OF TRUSTEES

MINUTES

DATE: September 12, 2007

President Hegge called the meeting of the Greendale Public Library Board of Trustees to order at 8:05 a.m.

Present: Birmingham, Hegge, Hughes, Jaet, Mares, Taylor.

Also Present: Gary Warren Niebuhr, Library Director

Stephanie Mares was welcomed back as the newly appointed replacement for Corey Hoffman. President Hegge announced that Trustee Taylor and Trustee Hughes were reappointed to three year terms.

MINUTES

Trustee Birmingham moved, Trustee Hughes seconded approval of the August 8, 2007, minutes.

Ayes: Birmingham, Hegge, Hughes, Jaet, Mares, Taylor.

Noes: None.

VOUCHERS

Trustee Mares moved, Trustee Birmingham seconded approval of the vouchers for August, 2007, in the amount of $25,075.12.

Ayes: Birmingham, Hegge, Hughes, Jaet, Mares, Taylor.

Noes: None.

The revenues were noted. Trustee Mares asked a question about the Library now selling maps for the Village at the Library. The Director responded that this was a limited need but useful to the staff and the customers.

The Clerk Treasurer’s report was noted.

CITIZEN’S COMMENTS

None.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

The Director presented the third draft of the 2008 budget. The Director will meet with the Acting Village Manager on Thursday the 13^th. He will report any changes in the budget and the dates of the October hearings to the Board.

The Director reviewed the status of the donations and the anticipated schedule for the dedications of the Luke Sikorski Resource Center and the Maxie Boszhardt Youth Area.

NEW BUSINESS

The Organizational meeting and the elections were held. Trustee Hughes nominated, and Trustee Jaet seconded, Stephanie Mares for President of the Library Board. Trustee Taylor moved, and Trustee Hughes seconded, a motion to unanimously elect Stephanie Mares as Library Board President.

Ayes: Birmingham, Hegge, Hughes, Jaet, Taylor.

Noes: None.

Abstention: Mares

CORRESPONDENCE

None.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Trustee Hegge reviewed his tenure as President of the Board and officially passed the gavel to Trustee Mares. The Board members thanked Trustee Hegge for his years of service as the Board President.

DIRECTOR’S REPORT

Noted.

GREENDALE PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION, INC., MONTHLY REPORT

The Director reviewed the Foundation’s search for two new Board members.
