The Director provided the figures for reciprocal borrowing reimbursement for the contract year October 2006 until September 2007.

NEW BUSINESS

The Director reported on the City of Milwaukee Public Library’s decision not to allow holds on its media items beginning in 2008.  The Board agreed to the Library distributing a form to City of Milwaukee residents informing them of the consequences of this decision.  The form will have both the Board President and Library Director’s name as signatures.

The Board reviewed the visioning statement created in 2000.  Because the Village’s average age is 44 and there is still a validity to the needs in youth services, the Board indicated an increase in examining youth services, staffing and funding.

Because of the recent concern over the use of the Library’s bike rack by Middle School students, Trustee Hughes agreed to talk to the Middle School Principal.
