update includes information about upcoming meetings
at Village Hall, property tax bills, updated
information about the Southridge Mall redevelopment
plans and other community information.

Village Board Meeting in Review
The Village Board considered a number of items at the meeting on December 7. The Village agreed to seek bids for the repair of the ramps in the DPW Refuse and Recycling Center. The Board also approved the 2011 Budget and Tax Levy. For more information about the 2011 budget, please click here.
In other action, a Temporary Class “B” and “Class B” Liquor License for the Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee for a special event at Martin Luther High School was approved. The Board also reviewed the Village’s financial status with the Clerk-Treasurer. Finally, the board met in closed session to discuss contract negotiations with the Village’s represented employees and economic development efforts in the Southridge Mall Area.
December 21 Village Board Meeting Preview
On Tuesday, December 21, the Village Board will consider several items. They will consider amendments to the Village of Greendale Zoning Code to create a new TND Traditional Neighborhood Development Overlay District Zoning Classification and Associated Amendments to the Development Review Process. They will also consider the creation of Tax Incremental District Number Two, Village of Greendale, including the proposed boundaries and Project Plan. The Board will consider action on the Southridge Mall Business Improvement District’s (BID) Operating Plan and Tax Levy. The Southridge Mall BID has been in existence since 2002. The BID was used by the former owner of Southridge Mall to pay for a number of improvements made to the Mall a number of years ago. A development agreement with the owners of Southridge Mall will be considered for approval. The development agreement includes the terms under which Southridge Mall will be redeveloped.
Trustees will also consider a proclamation proclaiming Friday, December 31, 2010 as Robert J. Dams Recognition Day in the Village of Greendale in appreciation for the retiring Police Chief’s many years of service.
2010 Property Tax Bills
The Village Clerk reminds property owners that Property Tax Bill for 2010 should have arrived. Here are some things to remember:
If you cannot make your payment by mail, it will be accepted at Village Hall, 6500 Northway, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or after hours in the drive-up depository box located in back of Village Hall.

The Village Now Accepts Online Payments
The Village of Greendale now accepts online payments for citations, invoices, licenses, permits property taxes and water/sewer bills. Please Note: There is a 2.5% convenience fee (a minimum of $3) for this service that will be presented to your prior to submitting your payment. For more information, please click here.
Health Department January Clinics
The Greendale Health Department will hold a number of clinics in January.

Recreation Program Book
This week will see the publication of the Winter/Spring 2011 Park & Recreation Program Book. The Program Book will be arriving in your mailbox soon and will also be available at Village Hall and the Greendale Public Library. You may also view the Program Book online by clicking here.
Ice Rink Now
Open
Greendale has a new ice rink! The rink is located in the “mall” area east of Greendale Middle School. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Skating is at your own risk and hockey games are permitted only when other skaters are not present. Parking is available in the Municipal Parking Lot, Greendale Middle School or on streets where permitted. The project was made possible with generous donations from the Milwaukee Admirals Power Play Foundation and community members.
Snow Removal Policies and Safety Tips
The ability to react quickly to varying winter weather conditions is of paramount importance to your Public Works Department and a necessary function of local government. Our top priority is to provide safe passage on Village streets and sidewalks for our residents and those traveling through the Village. The Village has standard policies and procedures in place that address the proper response and level of snow and ice control within the Village of Greendale.
