Village. Below you will find information about
upcoming meetings at Village Hall, the Candidate
Forum on March 23, the Greendale Winter/Spring Market
and other community news.

Village Board Meeting in Review
The Village Board considered a number of items at their previous meeting. They approved recommendations from the Finance Committee to purchase a defibrillator for the Fire Department, an amendment to the Assessor’s contract for a complete revaluation in 2011 and 2013, beverage operator licenses, an analysis of Water Utility rates, and Accounts Payable checks for payment. They discussed the Finance Committee’s internal audit review of bills presented for payment and reviewed the Status of Accounts submitted by the Clerk-Treasurer. The Board also approved a proclamation honoring the Greendale High School Varsity Cheerleaders on their success at the National Championships. In addition, they met in closed session to discuss contract negotiations with the Village’s represented employees. An additional closed session took place to discuss economic development efforts in the Southridge Mall area and the planned multi-million dollar redevelopment of Southridge Mall.
March 15 Village Board Meeting Preview
On Tuesday, March 15th the Village Board will consider several items that include approval of parade permit applications for the 2011 Village Days Parade, the 2011 4th of July Parade, as well as Ava’s Walk for Pedestrian Safety. The Board will also discuss and review the status of the 2011 budget. They will meet in closed session to discuss wages and benefits for the Village’s represented and non- represented employees but no action will be taken. An additional closed session will take place to discuss economic development efforts in the Southridge Mall area and the planned multi-million dollar redevelopment of Southridge Mall.
2011 Greendale Candidate Forum on March 23
The Greendale Chamber of Commerce and the League of Women Voters of Milwaukee County will once again conduct their annual Greendale Candidate Forum to educate voters on the upcoming local Greendale election. The Candidate Forum will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Courtroom of the Greendale Safety Center (5911 West Grange). The forum will be for the Greendale School Board (2 candidates for 1 seat). Both of the candidates have been invited and are expected to participate. The candidates are listed below.

Greendale Winter/Spring Market on March 19

Firewood Restrictions Target Emerald Ash Borer
The Department of Public Works reminds you that a legal restriction prohibits the movement of firewood and other items that could spread a pest such as emerald ash borer. For more information, please click here.
Greendale Reads at the Library
The Greendale Reads program at the public library will kick-off on Tuesday, March 29 at 7 p.m. with a book discussion of “History of Love” by Nicole Krauss. The discussion will be led by Dr. Edwin Block from Marquette University. Registration is required. For more information, please visit: www.greendalepubliclibrary.org.
