History of the Maxie Boszhardt Youth Area

maxieb Maxie Boszhardt lived a full life as a loving wife and mother of eight children. Maxie was a University of Wisconsin Journalism graduate, who with her husband Andy and children moved to Greendale in 1960. When her last child started school, Maxie went to work at the Canterbury Elementary School as the assistant librarian. In addition to her love for her own children, her heart was big enough to extend love to each child who visited with her in the library. The Boszhardt Family and all who knew Maxie remember her as a "beautiful woman who could enter a roomful of people and make a sincere impression. Maxie had a sparkling personality. It was her nature to be happy and her outstanding trait was to be a caring person. Maxie loved kids.”

The love of learning,

The sequestered nooks,
And all the sweet serenity of books.
