Record Requests

Requests for records (such as accident reports, incident reports, citations) start with the request form, available here or at the Police Department. Most open records requests directed to the Greendale Police Department will receive a reply within 10 working days. The cost for most records is .25 cents per page, and the fee is payable at the time of pickup.

AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS
The Wisconsin public records law authorizes requestors to inspect or obtain copies of records maintained by government authorities. Records are presumed to be open to the public for inspection with some specific exceptions. A request may be denied, in whole or in part, for specific and sufficient reasons. Generally, the law also does not require authorities to create new records in order to fulfill requests.

For complete information on the release of records by the Village of Greendale, please see our open records policy.
